An almost!! Spring greeting. Soon the flowers will be blooming, the trees will be leafing, the birds singing, cabin fever broke, all is well again, well almost... except here comes "tax day" and mowing the lawn. We are in the midst of a real economic quagmire, not only here locally but nationally and global wide, yet you have continued to support your post with great attendance, whether it is the food, the entertainment or other activities, that support has allowed Post 532 to not only maintain a status of stability, but to make us one of the most popular and elite private clubs around the Columbus area, that is the direct product of your greatly appreciated support. We will continue to seek new ideas that will make you proud to be a member of Post 532. While we are talking about support, lets go a step farther, the election of Legion, Sal and Ladies Auxiliary officers are coming up at the respective monthly membership meetings in April. Lets think about who we would consider for these positions before April gets here. Though any member in good standing is eligible to be nominated, I would suggest nominating the ones who can be at the post on a regular basis, 3 or 5 times a week at a minimum, especially on the Legion side. Otherwise 1 or 2 officers are going to carry the full load for everyone else, and that leads to a rapid burnout. One other thing I would like to touch on that bears keeping in mind, every member that belongs to American Legion Post 532 is here because they are a veteran of the United States Military or because of a veteran who served, That alone commands respect. I realize that sometimes when we get a couple of brews in us, some of us tend to forget that we are in an American Legion Post, not in a bar. This is not directed at anyone in particular, but a reminder to those who sometime lose focus. OH! One more, other thing, we still have almost 10% of our Legion members that have not yet paid their dues for "09"if possible, please do so soon. Remember... you are not eligible to win any of the drawings if you are not current on your membership dues.
